Adam Mirliss (pictured) opened Day 2 below 100,000 and less than two hours later, is second in chips. Mirliss sent Fred McAdoo to the rail and the RG Main Event is five from the money as a result.
John Butler opened the cutoff to 9,000 and Mirliss called on the button. McAdoo jumped in from the small blind and the flop came out J♠5♣2♣. McAdoo led for 15,000 and after Butler folded, Mirliss raised to 55,000. McAdoo took a moment and moved all-in for 125,000 total.
Mirliss called right away and turned over Q♣Q♦. McAdoo was in hell with a lower pair K♦J♦ and the 7♣ turn followed by the 9♣ river completed the hand for Mirliss.
The WSOP Circuit Monster Stack champion is up to second in chips with only Ben Warlcok ahead of him. The field is now five from the money.
