Mike Rieck has been grinding for the entirety of the final table and despite never being above the chip average, is still alive with five left. More than just being alive, Rieck did himself and the other four players still in a service by eliminating Gil George.
Rieck opened for 85,000 from under the gun and George shoved for about 450,000. Rieck called with 9♣9♦ and was well ahead of the 4♣4♦ of George. The flop gave Rieck a set and the chip leader at the start of Day 2 and the final table is out.
