Level 18 (5,000/10,000/1,000)
Total RG Main Event Entries: 381
Players Remaining: 19
Chip Average: 401,000
Brian Ray is responsible for bringing this Day 2 field down to 19 players and the edge of the two table redraw.
There was a slight lull in play at the start of Level 18 but that was ended fairly quickly with the eliminations of Richard Roberts and RunGood's Dan Lowery, that has this main event field only one player from 18.
Roberts grinded a short stack for most of the day and despite getting his last few blinds in good against Brian Ray, hit the rail in 21st place. Ray opened for 22,000 from the cutoff and Roberts shoved for 60,000 on the button. Ray was more or less mathematically obligated to call and did with 9♠7♠ which was live against the K♣Q♠ of Roberts. A seven on the flop put Ray ahead and he held through the last two community cards to move up to 360,000.
On the rear table, the last member of the RunGood team exited as Dan Lowery met his end at the hands of Matt Newcombe. Picking up the action on a board of 9♠2♠2♥10♥, Lowery shoved for about 120,000 and was called by Newcombe with A♥10♦. Lowery needed to catch with his K♥Q♦ but missed on the river. Newcombe has chipped up quite a bit during the last level and is now playing close to 550,000.
