Dan Lowery (pictured) had Dennis Thurman on the ropes a few more times but as he did every time, Thurman escaped elimination and scored the victory.
Thurman shoved the button for 1,835,000 with K♣3♠ and Lowery called with Q♠4♠. The Q♥7♣4♦ flop was perfect for Lowery but the K♦ turn gave Thurman life. The 3♦ river gave him a better two pair and the pot.
Thurman chipped up into the lead and then laid another bad beat on Lowery to lock up the title.
Lowery limped and Thurman checked behind. Thurman bet 200,000 on the K♠10♦5♦ flop and Lowery raised to 500,000 which led Thurman to shove for 4,250,000. Lowery called with A♣A♠ and Thurman's K♥6♣ was second-best until the K♦ turn gave him the lead. Lowery shook his head and the 8♥ completed the board.
Thurman clinches the title and $61,640 first-place prize. A winner's recap will be posted shortly.
